While Emilia Pérez led the nominations with an impressive 13 nods, it was Sean Baker’s romantic dramedy Anora that stole the spotlight, bagging a total of five Oscars, including:

  • Best Actress – Mikey Madison

  • Best Original Screenplay

The film’s unexpected sweep was one of the biggest talking points of the night.

Veteran actor Adrien Brody received the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his gripping performance as László Tóth in The Brutalist, directed by Brady Corbet. His win was met with a standing ovation and emotional applause from peers.


🇮🇳 India Misses Out on an Oscar

India’s sole nomination at the 2025 Oscars, a short film backed by Priyanka Chopra and directed by Anuja, unfortunately did not win. Despite strong buzz leading up to the event, the award went to another international contender, ending India’s hopes for a win this year.

For the first time, the Oscars were live-streamed on JioHotstar in India, starting at 5:30 AM IST on March 3, bringing Hollywood’s biggest night directly to Indian fans in real-time.
